PERIODONTOLOGY ?

The most distinctive feature of healthy gingiva is its light pink color and orange peel appearance. In addition, the gingiva is lively, hard-consistent and non-bleeding. It has features that end like a knife edge without thickening on the tooth surface. Bleeding is not observed in the healthy gingiva except trauma. In addition, the healthy gingiva completely surrounds the tooth, only a groove called the gingival groove with a maximum depth of 3 mm is observed in the neck of the tooth. In the diseased gingiva, the depth of this groove exceeds 3mm and is called the gingival pocket. In dentistry, the presence of this pocket plays a certain role in the diagnosis of the disease.

Many things can cause gum disease. These include inadequate oral care, stress, smoking, unbalanced nutrition, teeth clenching, certain medications, genetics, pregnancy and some systemic disorders. Gum diseases are infectious diseases. The basis of gingival diseases is the negative change in the bacterial balance in the mouth.

HOW TO DIAGNOSIS ?

In addition, the presence of tartar, receding gingiva, enlarged and reddened gingiva, elongated or displaced teeth and bad breath are the symptoms of dental disease.
